Notes for Theiss DOORS

This is a good place to note that in Germany during this time period surnames did not freely exist. In the Netherlands surnames were not required until 1811! This makes following a family line somewhat of a challenge and explains the naming for the children. Some use Theiss "last name" when they immigrated and some used the paternal relationship when required upon there arriaval in America. This paternal name then going from Theissen or Theisson to Tyson.
